Scope:

Complete acoustical design; including environmental noise evaluation, mechanical noise control, music room acoustics, classroom acoustics, and sound isolation between spaces.

Challenges:

One of the challenges associated with this project was to achieve good quality acoustics with the material selection. This project used an abundance of wood, glass, and stone for a modern, exposed structure appearance. However, these materials can create live or overly reverberant spaces.

Solutions:

For the Library space, we incorporated an absorptive theater board product behind the wood slated walls. The goal was to hide the noise controlling elements while allowing the aesthetic of the raw materials to come forward.
