Scope:

SSA provided complete acoustic design services for the Concordia University Library, which had a program that also included classrooms, offices, conference rooms, and a music recording studio.

Challenges:

Challenges included providing effective mechanical noise control for open-ceiling classrooms and addressing reverberation in the stacks and lobbies.

Solutions:

Linear wood acoustical ceilings are featured in the lobby, and fiberglass-based acoustical ceiling tiles are utilized in the stacks for maximum absorption. Air terminal boxes designed for quiet operation were used in open ceiling areas and above acoustically transparent ceilings
