About SSA Acoustics

SSA Acoustics is a leader in engineering spaces for sound quality and noise mitigation.  We pride ourselves on our extensive and internationally recognized experience in developing a spectrum of comprehensive architectural, engineering and environmental acoustical solutions.  We provide recommendations for a wide variety of projects including sound control in residential areas, interior acoustics in theaters and vibration control in bio-tech research laboratories.  Whether it’s interior architectural acoustics, mechanical noise control, environmental assessment and mitigation, multi-media design, industrial noise management and vibration isolation, we strive to meet your specific challenges.

We meet our clients’ needs with experienced personnel, state-of-the-art measurements, detailed evaluations, and innovative solutions.  We develop unique solutions for each project with the use of new materials and creative space layouts.  We ensure that our solutions are within budget and accompanied by detailed plans so that they may constructed correctly.  Our state-of-the-art equipment allows us to conduct in-depth field evaluations to verify acoustic performances per ASTM standards for Sound Transmission Class (STC), Impact Insulation Class (IIC), reverberation time (RT60), vibration, and environmental noise.

As a Seattle-based business, SSA Acoustics was founded in 2000 and has a creative and diverse team:  Managing Partner William Stewart, Partners Alan Burt (PE),Specifications Writer Dawn Nelsen, CDT, Senior Consultant John C. Keiffer, and Consultant Joel Esselstrom and Technician Steve Hedback.  Our senior professionals hold advanced degrees in architectural and engineering acoustics and have vast project experience.  Our design approach involves forming teams within the office, which allows us to share our individual experience and expertise with each other.  A full exchange of ideas within the office and the design community is essential for us to reach our goals of continued growth through education and the exploration of new ideas.  Our involvement in the design community is strengthened through AIA/CES, ASHRAE, CEFPI, CSI and WSSHE.
